Arabic for “delight". The name of the property
north-east of the city of Acre where Baha’u’llah lived from 1880 until His
ascension in 1892, and where His shrine is now situated. It is a place of
pilgrimage for Baha’is which comprise the Shrine of Baha’u’llah, the mansion
which was His last residence, and the surrounding gardens that serve to
beautify the site. Baha’u’llah’s shrine is the point to which Baha'is turn in
prayer.
